Storytime on the Carpet in April
April 12, 2018 @ 11:00 am – 11:45 am
Storytime is a FREE activity for Preschool and Elementary school age children. Once a month we put the rugs on the floor to lounge on while listening to a storybook.
We would love to have you and your children join us on our durable rugs. Reading and a craft (with glue and all sorts of fun messy things) is all done in the rug room near (and even on) the rugs.
The Butter Man
by Elizabeth Alalou and Ali Alalou
It’s always worth the wait. As young Nora waits impatiently for her mother to come home from work and for her father to serve the long-simmering couscous that smells so delicious, her father tells her about his childhood in Morocco. During a famine, when Nora’s grandfather had to travel far to find work and bring food for the family, her father learned the valuable life lessons of patience, perseverance, and hope.
The reading will be followed by a craft activity. Storytime participants will also receive a special coupon for the Café following the day’s storytime. RSVP below to reserve your spot on the rug and one of 25 seats at the crafts table.
