Storytime on the Carpet in May
May 11 @ 11:00 am – 11:45 am
Storytime is a FREE activity for Preschool and Elementary school age children. Once a month we put the rugs on the floor to lounge on while listening to a storybook.
We would love to have you and your children join us on our durable rugs. Reading and a craft (with glue and all sorts of fun messy things) is all done in the rug room near (and even on) the rugs.
Quite the Same
by Annette Darily Garber
I do not know your name or the color of your yes. I wonder what makes you laugh. I wonder what makes you cry. Maybe you are tall or short, black or white or brown. Do you live in a big city or in a little town? All I really want to say is that I care, it’s true. That sometimes I feel lonely and sad and angry, too. And if I lived beside you I’d come to know your name. You’d be my friend and I’d be yours; we’re really quite the same. So close your eyes, cause here’s a hug; it’s sent from me to you. And share this with another who’s sad and lonely, too.
The reading will be followed by a craft activity. Storytime participants will also receive a special coupon for the Café following the day’s storytime. RSVP below to reserve one of 25 spots on the rug and at the crafts table.
