Storytime on the Carpet in September
September 14 @ 11:00 am – 11:45 am
Storytime is a FREE activity for Preschool and Elementary school age children. Once a month we put the rugs on the floor to lounge on while listening to a storybook.
We would love to have you and your children join us on our durable rugs. Reading and a craft (with glue and all sorts of fun messy things) is all done in the rug room near (and even on) the rugs.
The Barefoot Book of Children
Written by Tessa Strickland and Kate DePalma
Illustrated by David Dean
Empower tomorrow’s global citizens to grasp today’s critical social issues with The Barefoot Book of Children. Hand-painted illustrations and straightforward text directly engage the reader, inviting children to ask themselves: How do other children live? How are we different? And most importantly: How are we alike? The Barefoot Book of Children is a playful, powerful and thought-provoking celebration of both the big ideas and the everyday moments that reveal our common humanity and tie us all together.
The reading will be followed by a craft activity. Storytime participants will also receive a special coupon for the Café following the day’s storytime. RSVP below to reserve one of 25 spots on the rug and at the crafts table.
