Types And Designs

There are three major kinds of Pakistani knotted rugs: Bokhara, Persian and Tribal. Although these rugs have their differences, their durability and merit as fine, handcrafted rugs are the same.

To make the introduction of kinds of rugs easier, you can make an analogy between rugs and cars. Bokhara, Persian and Tribals refer to different types of rugs just as Ford, Chevy and Volkswagen refer to different brands of cars. Within each kind of carpet, there are specific design names. Just as Ford cars have different designs known as Explorer, or Taurus or Focus, so Bokhara carpets have different designs known as Morrie, Sarouk and Chiree.

Click below to find out more about the three types of knotted carpets we carry.

In addition to knotted rugs, we also carry a large selection of woven rugs; these are often called Kilims. There are several different Kilim styles, patterns and techniques.
